ANNOUNCE INNOVATION IN ART & LITERATURE, A YOUTH INITIATVE AND PLANS FOR 2011.
Fargo, ND – Shirley Dykshoorn, president, and Mary Haugo, Advisory Leadership Team Chair for Marketplace for Kids, along with Chris Linnares and Bill Marcil, Beautiful Women OfTM announced today a new Innovation in Art and Literature Youth Initiative celebrating creativity in our youth.
“Creative art and writing is an area where many young students shine, their creativity, innovation and imagination are expressed in wonderful stories,” said Shirley Dykshoorn, president of Marketplace for Kids.
Marketplace for Kids is proud to join Beautiful Women OfTM in forming this collaboration. A new Innovation in Art and Literature, A Youth Initiative Lesson Plan has been developed and added to the Marketplace for Kids Learning Guide. The Outline will walk students through the steps of researching, interviewing, and writing their story, and producing the accompanying artwork. Students will have the option of showcasing their story at a regional Marketplace for Kids Education Day.
“Stories can follow the “Beautiful Women OfTM” theme – true beauty comes from within!” stated Chris Linnares. “In addition to the lesson plan developed by Marketplace for Kids, tools to assist students, sharpening their interview, writing, and presentation skills are being developed by Beautiful Women OfTM.”
“Stories written and showcased at a Marketplace for Kids Education Day as a project will be submitted to Beautiful Women OfTM for an opportunity to be published by Kototama Publishing,” stated Bill Marcil.
Marketplace for Kids Education Days will be held in ten regions in 2011; Devils Lake, Bottineau, Dickinson, Minot, Williston, Northwood, Bismarck – Mandan, West Fargo – Fargo – Moorhead, and a new Education Day added this year at the invitation of Dr. John Richman, President of ND State College of Science in Wahpeton. Robert Heitkamp of Midwest Applied Technologies LLC will Chair the Advisory Leadership Team for the Wahpeton – Breckenridge Education Day.
