The Women
After identifying 22 women through ads in newspapers across the state, encouraging people to nominate the “The Beautiful Women of their Lives,” photographer and film maker, Billy Black and his wife, Chris Linnares, bestseller psychotherapist and author who moved from Brazil to Fargo, decided to take their family on a road trip in a motor home. Their goal: expose their three daughters to everyday women creating extraordinary lives.
The result of this fascinating family journey is an empowering and heart felt book and art exhibition. With photos by Billy Black and stories by Chris Linnares, the book not just celebrates the hidden beauty of remarkable American women from North Dakota but invites the reader to embrace this cause by offering a special page to express their gratitude to the beautiful woman of their lives, no matter where they are from.
Here are a few of the women who will be featured in the Beautiful Women of North Dakota book. As you see their beautiful images and their remarkable stories, we hope you will feel inspired to ask yourself one simple question: “How do I want to be remembered?”
